INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
This is a direct replacement kit and should plug directly into your existing
wire harness with no modifications.
It is imperative that the module case be grounded securely to the
body, the module is grounded through the case. Failure to secure a
good ground on this unit will cause failure of the Micro Processor and void your warranty.
Clean the chassis mounting points to bare metal to ensure a perfect ground.
If in doubt add a 12g wire to the mounting screw and run it to a clean ground.
The engine must be grounded through a correct and large enough strap to
the chassis to insure
correct grounding. You must eliminate the ballast resistor either by
soldering the wires together or using our jumper wire kit. If the LED does not
come on steady within .5 seconds of ignition switching on -Check Ground.
If in doubt or you have any questions regarding this system call
541-942-5920 for technical assistance.
Do not attempt to run this ignition system with an aluminum contact distributor
cap, cap and or rotor failure will occur.
4 Pin Vs. 5 Pin…. all replacement modules for Chrysler Ignition systems use
a 4 Pin connector. The older style 5 pin connector just plugs into
the 4 Pin Module. Except Dodge Trucks with the Heavy Duty Emissions
Cycle Carburetor with Electronically Controlled Vacuum Kicker. Which is not the
correct application for the FBO Ignition system.
