"I looked and realized that no one made a carburetor specifically for these guys who want big power on pump gas, or the racers who need a low-cost racing carburetor without all the stuff they don't know how to tune anyway. So we took out the features they didn't need, tuned the booster for better response on lower-compression engines, and priced it better than anything you can buy from our competition." Barry Grant.
The Mighty Demon when paired up with the correct engine will give
any Race Demon a good run for the money. You'll get Race Demon performance
and drivability adjustments without cleaning out your wallet for that last nano
spec of fuel to gain that last .001 off your time slip.
Mighty Demons have mechanical secondary's, No choke horn and are available in 650-, 750-, 825-, and 850 models. All Mighty Demons are priced the same $549.00 out of the box and
prepaid to your door in lower 48, or $753.00 with our full teardown, upgrade
kit, inspection
and baseline set up.
Mighty Demons are designed for today's "Pro Street" and or Bracket Racing engines, mid range compression for pump or race gas, cams in the 235* - 262* duration at .050, good gear ratio's and high stall Convertors or 4-5-6 speed transmissions. All this adds up to rapid acceleration and a carb that can respond quickly to fuel demands to maintain the correct A/F ratio's on a hard pull. The applications don't stop there, add more compression and the carb will respond. Easily tuned from Idle to WOT with the changeable air bleeds in the air horn for idle and WOT. The throttle circuits this carb can be tuned easily for everything from a 1/4 mile door slammer to a 4x4 mud bogger.
In my opinion when the parameters are correct this is the best
carburetor made by anyone today.
The Barry Grant Catalog specifies very exact specifications for the use of a Mighty Demon. We like to use these parameters as a guide and don't believe they are etched in stone. For example the Demon catalog states that 240* duration at 50 is the minimum cam spec. We've had great success with these carbs with cams as low as 230/234 if the car is light enough, has plenty of gear, good stall convertor and set up for WOT driving. As long as the rate of piston speed increase is adequate this carb will respond very well and perform flawlessly. On the flip side if the cam is correct but it's a 4000# car with a 3.23 gear and a 1800 stall convertor, we can have it built with Vacuum Secondary's and by adding a 4-hole spacer it will perform flawlessly.
