DO NOT use any MSD Blaster, Accell or parts store Coil, they are incorrect for the Micro-Processor Type FBO Ignition Box and will not perform correctly and will damage the ECU.  The Processor has been programmed to maximize output to the 40011 coil. No other coil that we have tested will perform as well as the Pertronix 40011. The processor program is burned to match that coil. (We burn our programming to the processor in house)

 

These Boxes CANNOT be tested by any ECU testing equipment at any Auto Parts or repair facility and may cause permanent damage to internal electronic components. 

There are NO Transistors to test in this box.

The HRR688 Box has a superior Algorithm type rev limiter, it does not cut every other pulse which can damage the engine, or use a rheostat to drop voltage it uses a preprogrammed pattern to give the engine a smooth REV limiter that won't stress the internal engine components.

 

Our distributor machines have been re-geared to spin 8,800 Crank Shaft RPM for testing any and all ignition systems.  Beware of bogus and unsubstantiated claims on the "Internet"

 

Start sensor technology, the program changes the dwell time to the coil under 500 RPM cranking speed and increases output by 30-50% for quicker cleaner starts.

 

Red LED Status light performs a self diagnostic test and illuminates solid red in less than 1/2 second  Indicating system OK.

 

During crank it flashes with each signal generated by the magnetic trigger. Appears solid when engine is running as the naked eye cannot distinguish the rapid flash.

 

FACT: Any Inductive ignition system has a limitation by design to run to a maximum of 7,000 RPM.  No matter what you read from the Marketing Dept. on the internet, after 7000 RPM an Inductive ignition will not run efficiently and you will need a CD Ignition system which is designed to run at 7000 RPM and higher.

 

These Boxes CANNOT be tested by any ECU testing unit at any Auto Parts Store or repair facility and may cause permanent damage to internal electronic components or Micro Processor. 

There are NO antiquated transistors to test in this box. If the LED light works as designed, it's not an ECU Issue.

Remove the  ballast resistor, solder and heat shrink the wires together.  Or just use the simple Ballast Jumper included with every HRR688 Kit to bypass.

This is a Plug & Play unit, mounts in standard ECU holes and plugs into Mopar Harness.  Must be used with FBO HRR Coil (Pertronix 40011). Extended use of a  coil with a non-compatible Primary resistance and not designed to run on a 12V system may cause the box, coil or both to fail.

Adjustable REV limiter 5200 to 7000 (10-200 RPM Increments)

Inductive ignition systems reach there High Limit at 7000.  After that you should consider a  CD ignition like the CD1 or CD-Pro from Daytona-Sensors which we have in stock.

DO NOT USE BLASTER, Accell, E-core or Mallory COILS!

Correct and matching Coil is the Pertronix 40011 available at all FBO dealers or O'Rielly's/Autozone Nationwide.
