FAQ:
Q. "Right now I have a stock Convertor and 3.23 gear,
later this year I'll be installing a 3500 Convertor and a
4.10 gear set, will I have to start over with my
distributor?"
A. It will run fine but in order to get max
performance out of your new driveline you should send it
back to us for a Recurve to take advantage of the
changes.....Within 1 year $35.00
Q. My car is basically a daily driver but I like to race a
couple of times a year, can I do both?
A. YES! We set up our distributors to work with Constant
Manifold Vacuum, this set up will have no down track
effect on your engine, once you go about 1/4 throttle
you'll have no manifold vacuum therefore no vacuum advance
so you'll be running straight mechanical advance.
Q. I feel like if I remove the vacuum unit there is something missing off
my car?
A. Any street driven car that generates 10" of vacuum
or
more at idle will benefit from a Vacuum Advance distributor. The key to quick
clean starts is to get as
much initial timing in the motor as it'll take without kicking back. Then set up
the distributor to take it to idle advance levels that will help it burn the fuel at
low RPM. By setting the initial timing up correctly we keep the vac timing
low and prevent the lifting of the advance plate all which will drastically improve
light throttle/cruising fuel economy.
Q. I don't care about fuel economy can you give me Power?
A. A good indicator of the quality of your tune-up is fuel economy. If the engine is getting good fuel mileage then its running efficiently and converting all that fuel to HP. Doesn't matter if its an 8 second door slammer or your Mom's old 67 Wagon of Steel if the timing events are correct and the carburetor is tuned it will make max HP and achieve max fuel mileage. From that point on fuel economy starts with the peddle on the right.
